Born in Sorel in 1950, Claude Péloquin shows from his start
as a self-taught painter an inborn skill for colors. Between 1967 and 1979,
he will participate in about 40 group or solo exhibitions in Montréal, Québec,
Trois-Rivières as well as in Ottawa.
To improve himself, he completes studies in Fine Arts at Université du Québec
à Trois-Rivières where he obtains his degree in 1979.
To enable him to share his knowledge, he will pursue studies in Education Sciences
and Graphic Arts at Université du Québec à Montréal and obtain a certificate in 1983.
He will also receive a type A grant in 1991 from the Quebec Arts and Culture Department.
Sociocultural Activities
Very soon in his career he likes to get involved in sociocultural activities, such as:
- 1972 : Multimedia studio activities (governmental project)
- 1973 : Logistic organization of the shows of L'Infonie, musical group comprised of musicians, poets, dancers
and painters (subsidized project)
- 1977 : Fine arts teaching activities - Workshop Les pieds et les mains s'animent (subsidized project)
- 1982-1983 :Artistic directing / vice-presidency of Musée de l'Heure Inc. (promotion of the county of Richelieu cultural aspect)

- 1973 : Graphic designer, creation of environmental pictures, Tourism Department

Painting School
Always with the intention of passing on his knowledge and love of painting,
he gives lessons in Sorel-Tracy since 1985. Moreover, he takes great pleasure in organizing,
on an annual basis, an exhibition of the paintings made each year by his students.
